Singer Ricky Martin said in an
interview with Reuters that he will be “really loud” on LGBT
rights if things “go sour” during a Donald Trump presidency.
The 44-year-old Martin
announced Wednesday that he's engaged to Jwan Yosef, a conceptual
artist based in London.
“If things go sour, in the sense that
I as a member of the LGBT community or a member of the Latino
community in this country, if I feel threatened, I am going to be
really loud,” Martin told Reuters.
“But something tells me that that's
not going to be necessary. … I really hope that everything is
stable.”
Martin this week also announced that he
would begin a residency in Las Vegas at the Monte Carlo's Park
Theater in April and going through September. He said that he hopes
the residency will allow him to get back to recording new material.
“Since I am stable in one place, I'm
going to be able to walk in to the studio as much as I want,”
Martin
said.
