In a letter to Orlando Mayor Buddy
Dryer, Britain's Prince Harry offered his support to the city
following last weekend's attack on a gay nightclub.
Forty-nine people died and dozens were
injured in the attack on the Pulse nightclub.
Orlando recently hosted the Invictus
Games. Prince Harry founded the event in which wounded veterans
compete in various sports.
“I wanted to write and express my
most sincere condolences to the people of Orlando after the horrific
attack on the Pulse nightclub Sunday,” Prince Harry wrote.
“I know what a warm and welcoming
community” Orlando is.
Harry also expressed his “deep
admiration” to first responders for their “extraordinary bravery
and professionalism.”
“Our thoughts are with the victims
and their loved ones at this most difficult of times,” he
concluded. “You are all in our prayers as you face the days and
weeks ahead.”
