Adam Lambert, Boy George and Linda Perry were among the LGBT artists mourning the loss of David Bowie.

Bowie died at the age of 69 after losing a battle with cancer.

“Oh this is terrible news,” Linda Perry tweeted. “We lost an extremely important and influential artist. David Bowie has been a huge inspiration and will be missed.”

“Such a sad day!” Boy George messaged.

In a series of tweets, Adam Lambert called Bowie “one of the bravest artists of the century.”

“I love how Bowie challenged people's perception of gender stereotypes and what an Outsider truly was,” Lambert said. “He was SO ahead of his time.”

“Bowie was one of the bravest artists of the century. A true icon.”

“He is the first and foremost Glam Rockstar. Rebel Rebel, Life On Mars, Lady Grinning Soul....,” he added.
