A Christopher Chace Crawford photo for
gay marriage group NOH8 Campaign is not official, On Top Magazine
has learned.
The widely-publicized photograph
features the 26-year-old actor wearing a gray suit and a dark blue
tie with his mouth duct taped and the NOH8 Campaign's familiar “NOH8”
slogan written on one cheek.
The NOH8 Campaign raises awareness and
funds for gay rights causes, including ending California's 2008
voter-approved gay marriage ban, Proposition 8.
Jeff Parshley, who, along with his
partner, photographer Adam Bouska, runs the campaign, told On Top
Magazine in an email that he believes the photo is “fan made.”
“That is not one of our official
campaign photos,” Parshley said.
Neither is the photo available for
purchase at the campaign's website.
The photo began creating a buzz online
two weeks ago when several prominent blogs cheered Crawford for his
support of gay rights.
Crawford is best known for playing Nate
Archibald in the CW's nighttime teenage drama Gossip Girl.
Former Suns CEO Rick
Welts and celebrity blogger Micah
Jesse recently joined the campaign.
