Glee's Chris Colfer says he
believes either Ty Burrell or Ed O'Neill of Modern Family will
best him for an Emmy.
Colfer is one of the three men
nominated for an Emmy in the supporting comedy actor category who
plays a gay man on television. The other two are Jesse Tyler
Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, who play gay couple Mitchell Pritchett
and Cameron Tucker on the ABC Wednesday night sitcom
Modern Family.
Colfer and Ferguson are also openly
gay.
The three will compete against Modern
Family co-stars Ty Burrell and Ed O'Neill and Two and Half
Men's Jon Cryer.
When asked about his chances of taking
home the statue, Colfer, who plays gay student Kurt Hummel on the Fox
musical-comedy Glee,
said he would pick either Burrell or O'Neill to win.
“I think, for me, I think Ty is a
great guy,” he
told the Huffington Post. “They're all fantastic guys.
I think Ty deserves it, but then again I think Ed has been working so
long that he's long overdue for one.”
