Designer Michael Kors on Tuesday married his longtime boyfriend Lance LePere.

According to Women's Wear Daily, the couple married on Dune Beach in Southhampton, New York. Mayor Mark Epley officiated the private ceremony.

“To marry someone as wonderful and special to me as Lance barefoot on a glorious beach is more than I could have dreamed of,” Kors said.

The men were spotted a few weeks ago in New York City applying for a marriage license.

The 52-year-old Kors confirmed to Us Magazine that the couple was preparing to tie the knot.

“Lance and I are very excited to finally be able to have the opportunity to marry in our home state after many years together,” Kors told the magazine.

“We have no plans for a major party,” he added.

Kors, who can also be seen judging on cabler Bravo's fashion reality series Project Runway, and LePere, 40, met in 1990, when LePere joined Kors' design firm in Paris as an intern. He's now the firm's creative director.

Last month, New York became the sixth state to legalize gay marriage.
