Musician Tommy Joe Ratliff says he's
ready for more gay rights advocacy.
Ratliff is the 29-year-old bass
guitarist of American Idol season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert.
In December, Ratliff joined the NOH8
Campaign against Proposition 8, California's gay marriage ban.
The NOH8 Campaign, which is helmed by
photographer-activist Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley,
raises funds and awareness to defeat Proposition 8.
Ratliff posed for the campaign wearing
a white t-shirt, dark purple eye makeup and the campaign's “NOH8”
slogan written on one cheek.
The
rocker recently lauded the experience, adding that he's ready for
more gay rights advocacy.
“I've always supported and wanted to
do a photo someday,” Ratliff said. “Oddly enough, Jeff and Adam
sent me [a] DM on twitter asking to do a shoot and I was very excited
to do it. I'm amazed with how it turned out and I was floored by the
reaction. I'm so glad everyone liked it. I've kept in contact with
them and plan on doing more stuff together. They're super sweet dudes
and I have a lot of respect for what they're doing and will do
whatever I can to help out.”
