Personal finance guru Suze Orman has
joined Oprah Winfrey's OWN channel, the New York Times
reported.
Orman's show on the nascent cabler is
titled Money Class and is
expected to premiere in the fall. Each episode will feature the
59-year-old Orman helping families and individual reach their
financial goals. Until then, the network is featuring Orman in Ask
Oprah's All Stars.
A CNBC spokesman said Orman remained
“under contract” to host her weekend call-in show The Suze
Orman Show.
Orman is the latest openly gay
celebrity to join OWN, which launched on January 1.
Former Queer Eye for the Straight
Guy “fashion savant” Carson Kressley has signed up for double
duty on the network. Kressley is co-hosting Your OWN Show:
Oprah's Search for the Next TV Star, which premieres on Friday,
and is expected to debut his makeover-themed show Carson-Nation
in March.
Also working at the network is former
Iron Chef Cat Cora, who is expected to helm a reality show
that will feature the celebrity chef helping families whose habits
have fallen prey to a busy lifestyle.
In a recent It Gets Better video, Orman
told gay teens “People want you to be who you are. … I am proud
that I am a lesbian.”
