Producers of the nighttime teen drama
90210 are looking for a “hot, super-athletic” love
interest for Trevor Donovan's gay character.
Donovan's
all-American jock Teddy Montgomery is struggling with his sexuality
on the third season of the CW show. After sleeping with Ian,
played by Canadian pop star Kyle Riabko, Teddy warns him to stay
away.
Donovan has previously said he wants
his character to have sex. According to Entertainment Weekly's
Michael Aussielo, producers are looking to do just that.
“Looks like Teddy is about to get his
first real BF on 90210 (sorry, Ian),” Aussielo
wrote on his Facebook page. “Casting is underway for the role
of Marco, a 'hot, super-athletic, openly gay love interest' for
Trevor Donovan's same-sex-lovin' alter ego.”
“Interested actors MUST be
comfortable making out with another dude,” he added.
Donovan told gay glossy The Advocate
that he's excited about playing the part and wants his character to
have a love life.
“Heck, yeah,” he
said. “I'm an actor, this is what I do. I'm telling a story,
and it wouldn't be realistic if we didn't go there. I have no
problem with that at all.”
