Rockers Slash of Velvet
Revolver and Guns n' Roses
and Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction
and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have joined the NOH8
Campaign against Proposition 8, California's gay marriage ban.
Slash and Navarro posed with their
mouths duct taped. The campaign's familiar “NOH8” slogan is
written on Navarro's cheek and on a top hat worn by Slash. The
45-year-old guitarist Slash, also known as Saul Hudson, is pictured
in a white shirt holding a guitar, while Navarro is shirtless and
displaying a variety of tattoos.
The campaign, which raises funds and
awareness to defeat Proposition 8, is helmed by photographer-activist
Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley.
On a stop in Houston, the
campaign recruited twenty-six-year-old Houston Dynamo Mike Chabala to
pose for the campaign.
Other famous faces involved in the NOH8
Campaign include: Isiah
Thomas, men's basketball coach of the Florida International
University Golden Panthers, and his son, Joshua Zeke Thomas,
actress Tori
Spelling and Cindy
McCain, wife of Arizona Senator John McCain, and their daughter
Meghan, a pro-gay Republican.
