Cynthia Nixon, Rosie O'Donnell and Alan
Cumming are among the stars supporting Fight
Back New York's September 13 fundraiser in New York City.
The political action committee formed
last year after the New York Senate rejected a gay marriage bill and
has taken on the task of ousting senators who voted against the
measure.
Sex
and the City 2
star Nixon appeared last year in a video to promote the newly-minted
group. Nixon campaigned heavily for passage of the law,
appearing often at rallies and demonstrating with her fiancee,
education activist Christine Marinoni.
Monday's fundraiser will be held at the
Central Park West home of Andrew Goffe and Jeff Levin.
Also scheduled to appear are Cheyenne
Jackson, the hunky star of this season's Broadway production of
Finian's Rainbow, and his partner of 10 years Monte Lapka;
Scottish actor Alan Cumming and graphic artist Grant Shaffer, who'll
celebrate their third anniversary in January; and recently-married
Tony Award-winning playwright Terrance McNally and his husband Tom
Kirdahy.
Rosie O'Donnell, who'll
be returning to daytime television in the fall, gay activist
David Mixner, Broadway producer-writer Moises Kaufman, and theater
veterans Sarah Paulson, Judy Gold and Cherry Jones are also on the
guest list.
