Celebrity chef Tom Colicchio will ride next year atop a bear float in Los Angeles' gay pride parade.

Colicchio discussed his plans in an interview with gay weekly the Dallas Voice.

The top-rated chef, author and star of Bravo's Top Chef reality series said he'll greet thousands of revelers from atop a float for gay monthly A Bear's Life.

The 47-year-old Colicchio has become a sex symbol for gay men, especially in the gay community, since his debut as judge on Top Chef, now in its seventh season.

Colicchio, who is married and has two sons, said he was approached to ride in the float after an appearance on Andy Cohen's talk show Watch What Happens.

In the interview taped in Los Angeles, Colicchio told Cohen that he was mad at the bear community for not inviting him to Los Angeles gay pride.

“The gay pride parade was going on, and no one had asked me to be on a float,” he said.

After viewing the segment, the magazine's editor invited Colicchio to ride on his float next year.

Colicchio co-founded New York's star restaurant Gramercy Tavern and went on to build the Craft restaurant empire, which includes outlets in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas and Atlanta.

He is the author of three cookbooks: Think Like a Chef, Craft of Cooking, and the sandwich handbook 'wichcraft.
