Glee star Jane Lynch has a photo
of the moment she met her wife.
Lynch, 49, and Dr. Lara Embry, 41,
married on Memorial Day at the Blue Heron restaurant in
Massachusetts.
Lynch stars as Sue Sylvester, the
sharp-tongued coach of McKinley High whose mission is to ruin the
glee club singers, on Fox's musical comedy hit Glee. The
series has been picked up for a third season.
Lynch and Embry married in a small
ceremony described as “intimate and very sweet” by Blue Heron
restaurant co-owner Deborah Snow. “You could feel the love and
friendship amongst the group,” she told People.com.
Snow also told the magazine that only
family and close friends were invited – no celebrities.
The wedding was featured Wednesday in
the New
York Times weddings section and Lynch told the paper that she
had a photograph of the moment the women met in May 2009.
“We actually have a picture of the
moment we met,” Lynch said, referring to a San Francisco
fund-raiser at which Embry was among those being honored and Lynch
served as presenter.
“I said, 'I want my picture taken
with her,'” Embry added. “I thought she was cute.”
The women struck up a long-distance
relationship and by November announced they were engaged.
