During a writers roundtable hosted by
The Hollywood Reporter, out designer-director Tom Ford
revealed that he has written a politically incorrect movie.
Ford, whose second film Nocturnal
Animals received three Golden Globe nominations this week, was
joined by Pedro Almodovar (Julieta), Kenneth Lonergan
(Manchester by the Sea), Noah Oppenheim (Jackie),
Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures) and Taylor Sheridan (Hell
or High Water).
When asked how they would write a movie
about Donald Trump, Ford turned to Oppenheim and joked, “Is your
next one going to be Melania?”
“I'd like to see that closet scene!”
Schroeder
said.
“Let's hope for all of our sakes it
is not the tragedy that so many people who did not vote for him
fear,” Oppenheim chimed in.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Ford
revealed that he had written a movie that he wasn't sure he could
make.
“I've written something that's very
politically incorrect; I'm not sure that I could make it – which
kind of makes me want to,” Ford said.
In an earlier interview with Vulture,
Ford said that he had written an inappropriate comedy.
“I did write a comedy. I have that
comedy. Everyone who has read it says it's so inappropriate that it
really couldn't be made. Even the title is inappropriate!” Ford
said.
