Amy Poehler is developing a gay
romantic comedy for ABC.
The sitcom, titled Family Style,
features two mismatched gay men from different cultures who fall in
love with each other while working at a family-run restaurant in
Miami, according to The
Hollywood Reporter.
Poehler is best known for playing
Leslie Knope for seven seasons on the NBC hit sitcom Parks and
Recreation and co-anchoring Saturday Night Live's Weekend
Update with colleague Tina Fey for four seasons.
Family Style is inspired by
the life of Scott King, showrunner for the Hulu comedy Difficult
People, which stars Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner.
King and Claudia Lonow (Crowded,
Friends with Benefits) will co-write the script.
Poehler, King and Lonow will
co-executive produce the new series.
Poehler's Paper Kite production company
has sold three comedies this season, two to ABC.
