Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, spoke to LGBT
voters in the key swing state of North Carolina on Saturday.
“In my heart, this is the most
consequential election of my lifetime,” she told a crowd of more
than 200 people, according to the Washington
Blade.
The event was held at the AvidXchange
Music Factory and was sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC),
the nation's largest LGBT rights advocate.
Clinton told the audience about an
8-year-old girl's fear that her gay father will have to go back into
the closet if Donald Trump, Clinton's rival, wins Tuesday's election.
“We have to prove that love trumps
hate is not just a statement,” Clinton
said.
Hillary Clinton returns to North
Carolina on Tuesday for a midnight rally in Raleigh.
