Democratic presidential candidate
Hillary Clinton will hold a rally Sunday afternoon at a gay nightclub
in Wilton Manors, Florida.
According to the Sun-Sentinel,
the rally, scheduled to begin at 2 PM, will take place at the Manor
Complex, 2345 Wilton Drive, one of one the city's largest gay
nightclubs.
The 2010 Census ranked Wilton Manors as
having the second highest percentage (14%) of same-sex couples behind
Provincetown, Massachusetts.
“The appearance shows the importance
the Clinton campaign is placing on South Florida, where Democrats
need a strong turnout to overcome more Republican areas of the
state,” the paper wrote.
The Clinton campaign described the
event as a “Community in Unity rally” where Clinton “will lay
out her agenda for an America that is stronger together, that would
support the LGBT community in South Florida and across the country.”
