Out actor Daniel Franzese proposed to
his boyfriend at the North Hollywood Starbucks where the pair met two
years ago.
Franzese, who is best known for playing
Damian in the 2004 film Mean Girls and was last seen on HBO's
gay drama Looking, recruited some staffers to help him
with his proposal.
When Franzese's boyfriend, Joseph
Bradley Phillips, who works in fashion marketing, was given his
order, the barista offered him a “new drink” to sample.
“I think you will love it for the
rest of your life,” she told him.
Inside the empty cup was a ring, which
Franzese fished out as he got down on one knee.
“Since I first saw you here, you have
opened your heart to me,” Franzese
told his future groom. “And I vow to God that for the rest of
my life to honor and protect that heart if you will be my husband.
Will you marry me?”
“Yeah, papi,” Phillips answered.
Franzese later thanked his fans for
their well wishes.
“Love to all who have expressed joy
for our engagement! We are beyond happy and so lifted. #loveislove
@Joeysaidthat loves @WhatsupDanny,” he tweeted.
