The five-part webseries Skirtchasers
premieres Sunday on streaming service tello.
In Skirtchasers, Robyn Samuels
(played by Elizabeth Kenner, The L Word, My Generation) is
mending her broken heart after breaking up with her long-time
girlfriend the day before their wedding.
When her absent father (Barry Bostwick)
reenters her life, Robyn realizes that her fear of commitment is
rooted in her relationship with her father. Meredith Baxter plays
Robyn's divorced mother.
The show was written and created by
James Berg and Stan Zimmerman (The Golden Girls, Roseanne,
Brady Brunch movies). Amanda Bearse directed four of the
webisodes, while Zimmerman directed one. Lea DeLaria, who plays Big
Boo on Netflix's Orange is the New Black, recorded the show's
theme song.
“I am extremely excited to be
bringing this new series to life,” said Christin Baker, co-founder
and CEO of tellofilms.com. “James and Stan's writing is phenomenal
and targets the exact kind of audience tello is all about. Not to
mention the amazing actors that have been drawn to this material.”
The series is free to watch for tello
premium subscribers.
