NBC News is reporting that Ohio Governor John Kasich will end his bid for the White House during a press conference scheduled to take place at 5PM on Wednesday.

“BREAKING: John Kasich to suspend his campaign for president, senior campaign adviser says,” NBC News tweeted.

The Kasich campaign has confirmed that Kasich will make an announcement about his campaign from Columbus, Ohio.

The news comes after Kasich abruptly canceled a news conference Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz suspended his bid for the GOP presidential nomination, leaving Kasich and Donald Trump as the remaining GOP candidates.

Cruz's exit came after Trump won a landslide victory in Indiana.

Kasich trails Trump by almost 900 delegates but has previously vowed to stay in the race until Republicans meet in Cleveland in July.
