Appearing this week at PaleyFest,
Jeremy Jordan suggested that his character on CBS' Supergirl
should be gay.
The 31-year-old Jordan plays Winslow
“Winn” Schott, Jr., the son of DC Comics villain character
Toyman, on the drama.
Winn has a crush on his CatCo co-worker
Kara Danvers/Supergirl (played by Melissa Benoist) but has seemingly
accepted that she'll never think of him as anything more than a
friend.
At PaleyFest, the cast and creatives of
Supergirl were asked whether there were any plans to add LGBT
characters to the show.
Out co-creator Greg Berlanti answered:
“There's no immediate plans to do that right now.”
Jordan then suggested that Winn should
be gay.
“I think what's really always
rewarding is when people watch the show and see some piece of
themselves in a character that they wouldn't think they'd have that
much in common with,” Berlanti is quoted as saying by Deadline
Hollywood.
