The Portuguese footballer beat out such
gay icon perennials as Kylie Minogue, Liza Minnelli and Judy Garland
to win GayGoldDiggers.uk.com's annual gay icon award.
The online gay dating site polled more
than 3,000 men to come up with Britain's ultimate gay icon.
“Ronaldo's ripped body, slicked-back
hair, shiny white teeth and jewelry swung the votes his way,” said
a GayGoldDiggers.uk.com spokesperson. “He looks like any gay man
or woman's dream.”
“What with being Footballer of the
Year, scoring 42 goals last season and former girlfriends saying he
is talented off the pitch, he seems to have everything going for
him.”
United teammate David Beckham, the only
other athlete in the top ten, scored a disappointing seventh place.
