Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh
on Tuesday said that the inclusion of a boy in a Moschino Barbie
commercial “could be gay.”
The $150 Moschino Barbie was designed
by Jeremy Scott, the creative director of Moschino, and sold out
within an hour of its launch last week.
In the ad, a young boy calls Moschino
Barbie “so fierce” and hands a cell phone to the doll with a
wink.

Limbaugh promised his listeners he
would discuss the ad in detail on Wednesday.
“Have you [heard] Mattel has
introduced a boy in the Barbie commercials?” Limbaugh rhetorically
asked. “I am not kidding. Boys apparently like Barbie dolls. And
so Mattel is using boys in Barbie doll commercials on TV now. No,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Barbie, don't give me this GI Joe
stuff.”
“Well, it's – no, not necessarily
transgender, but could be gay. Well, women love gay guys. They're
certainly no threat. They're fashion conscious. I mean, they fit
the bill. They don't want sex. I mean, it's nirvana,” he
added.
