Actor Neil Patrick Harris and husband
David Burtka celebrated their first anniversary over the weekend.
Harris (How I Met Your Mother;
Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and Burtka tied the knot during an
intimate ceremony in Italy.
The men, together over 10 years, are
raising 4-year-old twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace.
“One year ago today I had the
pleasure of marrying David Burtka,” Harris
tweeted on Sunday. “I'm so happy that I did – he's a truly
wonderful man. Here's to many more laughs and adventures..!”
Harris attached the message to a photo
from their wedding.
During an appearance on ABC's The
View last year, Harris explained that he married Burtka for their
children and the opportunity to publicly say nice things to him.
“I just wanted to be able to say nice
things about David to David in front of the people that mattered the
most to us. It was less about a proclamation and more about a
declaration that I was able to share in front of our kids,” he
said.
