A federal judge on Wednesday dismissed
an Auburn, Nebraska woman's lawsuit asking the court to declare that
gay sex is a sin.
In the lawsuit, Sylvia Ann Driskell,
66, claimed to be an ambassador for God and his son, Jesus Christ.
In her 7-page
handwritten letter, Driskell claimed “that homosexuality is a
sin, and that they the homosexuals know it is a sin to live a life of
homosexuality. Why else would they have been hiding in a closet.”
According to the Omaha
World-Herald, Judge John Gerrard dismissed Driskell's
complaint, stating it is not up to the court to decide the issue.
“The United States Federal Courts
were created to resolve actual cases and controversies arising under
the Constitution and the laws of the United States,” Gerrard wrote.
“A federal court is not a forum for debate or disclosure on
theological matters.”
