Actor Johnny Galecki has criticized
Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy S. Moore's outspoken
opposition to gay marriage.
The 39-year-old Galecki is best known
for playing Dr. Leonard Hofstadter on the CBS comedy The Big Bang
Theory.
Moore ordered probate judges – who
issue marriage licenses in Alabama – to ignore a federal judge's
ruling striking down the state's ban on gay marriage. Later, the
Alabama Supreme Court ordered the judges not to issue marriage
licenses to gay couples.
The standoff has led to confusion and
additional lawsuits.

Appearing on Larry King Now,
Galecki was asked what he would “change about the world.”
“We've got to figure out this same-sex
marriage thing,” he
answered. “What happened in Alabama last month is absurd.”
Moore “literally ordered the state
judges to ignore the federal court's ruling. That makes no ...”
sense, he said. “I don't understand how that's okay.”
