Actor John Travolta has dismissed a
lawsuit filed by a former male employee who claims the pair shared a
romantic relationship.
Douglas Gotterba worked for Travolta's
aircraft company Alto in the 1980s and has claimed the pair shared a
romantic relationship.
Gotterba, who is planning a tell-all
book, has filed a lawsuit over a confidentiality agreement he says is
unenforceable.
Speaking to The
Daily Beast, Travolta called the lawsuit “every celebrity's
Achilles heel.”
“It's just about people wanting
money,” he said. “That's all. It happens on many levels.”
“You are a high-profile figure, and
as such, it seems like you get targeted a lot more than anyone else
with these types of allegations,” the interviewer commented.
“Also, I don't care that much about
it,” he responded. “Other people may attack it back more than I
do, but I let all the media stuff go a long time ago because I can't
control it. I think that's why it persists, to some degree.”
