Out actor David Hyde Pierce returns to
television this fall in a recurring role on the CBS legal drama The
Good Wife.
Now in its sixth season, the critically
acclaimed The Good Wife stars Julianna Marguiles, Josh
Charles, Christine Baranski, Archie Panjabi, Matt Czuchry and Alan
Cumming.
Pierce will play a former cable news
legal commentator who is running for elected office. Pierce's
character takes on the new career in order to reduce the corruption
and murder rate in Chicago.
According to Deadline
Hollywood, Pierce's character will be a recurring role.
Pierce won four Emmys playing Frasier
Crane's fussy brother Niles Crane for nine seasons on the NBC hit
comedy series Frasier.
In 2009, he shared
that he had married television producer Brian Hargrove in California
in October of the previous year.
