Broadway diva and television actress
Kristin Chenoweth has joined the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC)
Americans for Marriage Equality campaign.
In a nearly 1-minute clip released on
Thursday, the 46-year-old Chenoweth explains she loves the gospel and
believes everyone should have the right to marry.
“Yep, I'm also a Christian, and a
shorty, and a lover of gospel, and an Okie, and a dog lover. That's
just who I am and how I was made,” Chenoweth says.
“Look, the bottom line is that
regardless of how you were made or who you love, you should be able
to get married if you want to get married. I truly believe it's that
simple.”
“And I'll keep speaking out until
marriage is an equal right nationwide,” she adds. (The video is
