Adam Joseph, a weatherman at
Philadelphia's ABC affiliate, this week came out gay in announcing
the birth of his son Jacob.
“The action news team has grown
again!” Joseph wrote in a Facebook post. “I am ecstatic to
introduce Jacob, the newest love of our lives. My partner Karl and I
welcomed him into our world on August 5th at 1:41am.”
“We are simply overjoyed and ready to
spoil him with unconditional love!” he added.
“Karl and I have been on this journey
for close to a year and a half and today that beautiful journey
continues with our son,” Joseph added. “New chambers to our
hearts have been opened thanks to the outpouring [of] love from
family and friends.”
Joseph's employer, WPVI-TV,
enthusiastically shared the news on its website
and broadcasts.
“He's waited so long for this and to
finally have his little miracle wrapped up in a 9 pound bundle is
just a beautiful thing to witness,” gushed weekday co-anchor
Shirleen Allicot. “We are so happy for him.”
