Olympian Johnny Weir and Victor Voronov
have called off their divorce.
“My husband and I have happily
reconciled,” Weir tweeted to his more than 208,000 followers.
“Please respect our privacy and integrity at this time.”
“Love is dangerous. Love is safe.
Love is ugly. Love is beautiful. Love is hard, is the greatest
gift, even with all its flaws. Keep shining,” he added in a
separate message.
Weir announced on March 19 that he was
divorcing his husband of 2 years, saying that he was being stifled by
the marriage.
“I was losing myself by being married
to my husband. I was losing my objectives in life. I was very
isolated from the world,” Weir told Access
Hollywood.
Weir added that Voronov, who has a law
degree, did not support his career.
According to TMZ.com, Weir filed for a
divorce on February 12.
In a recent interview with Inside
Edition, Voronov said that he still loves Weir but accused
his estranged husband at the time of “morally reprehensible”
behavior.
“But that doesn't take away from the
fact that I love him. You could still love somebody who's evil. …
I don't want to use the term 'evil,' because that's a very harsh
term, but you can still love somebody who induces you to love them,”
he said.
