Singer-songwriter Steve Grand's
kickstarter campaign for his first album surpassed his initial
$81,000 goal by nearly a quarter of a million dollars.
The 23-year-old Grand became an instant
YouTube celebrity when he released his gay-themed All-American Boy
video on July 2.
During an appearance last month on
Larry King Now, Grand announced that he was raising funds for
his first album through a Kickstarter.com
campaign and hoped to raise $81,000 in the next 30 days.
Grand blew through that goal in less
than 24 hours and went on to raise a grand total of $326,593.
In
a video released in the campaign's final two hours, an emotional
Grand thanked his GrandFam.
“You've changed my life. … I am
forever grateful,” Grand said.
