Authorities in Colorado have accused a
Christian pastor of luring a gay man to a motel and then robbing him
at gunpoint.
Michael T. Abromovich, a pastor at Set
Free God's House, a Colorado Springs ministry for the homeless and
people suffering from addiction, allegedly solicited the man for sex
through a Craigslist ad. According to Denver's
CBS Channel 4, Abromovich lured the man to a Motel 6, where he
told him he was a U.S. marshal, searched and handcuffed him at
gunpoint – police suspect the gun was a paint gun – and robbed
him of a laptop, iPad, cell phone, money and debit card.
“Mike then told him they were taking
his computers and phone to be sent to the lab to look for evidence,”
the arrest warrant affidavit reads.
The 43-year-old Abromovich was arrested
last week in Phoenix, Arizona. He was extradited to Denver and faces
charges of kidnapping, theft and impersonating a peace officer.
