Actor Maulik Pancholy on Thursday
announced that he's engaged to marry Ryan Corvaia, his boyfriend of 9
years and the founder of New York City's Dish
Food & Events.
“It only took 9 years but it's
official! We just got engaged at the Taj Mahal to @Ryan_Corvaia!
YEEEESSSS!” he messaged to his more than 10,000 followers along
with a photo of Corvaia with one hand wrapped around Pancholy, the
Taj Mahal in the background.
Pancholy, who is best known for playing
Jonathan, Jack Donaghy's (played by Alec Baldwin) assistant on NBC's
now-canceled sitcom 30 Rock, came to pubic notice playing
Sanjay Patel on Showtime's Weeds. He currently plays another
Sanjay in cabler Nickelodeon's animated series Sanjay and Craig.
The 39-year-old actor came out gay in
November, discussing for the first time publicly his relationship
with Corvaia, whom he did not name at the time.
“I just celebrated my nine-year
anniversary with my partner,” Pancholy
told gay glossy Out. “It feels like a nice time to be
celebrating something like that, especially on the heels of the DOMA
and Prop 8 decisions.”
