Ricky Martin, Alan Cumming, Sara
Gilbert and Morrissey are among the 20 celebrities starring in PETA's
“Vegetarian Icon” stamps.
PETA this week launched its 2013
edition of U.S. postage stamps featuring famous vegetarians and
vegans.
“Rotten carcasses don't feel good
inside … my body,” Cumming told Vegetarian
Times. “I've also seen some horrible documentaries
about the hormones and things that go into meat. On a health level,
meat is so scary.”
Appearing on Ellen DeGeneres' daytime
talk show last month, Martin said that he's a recent vegetarian.
“I've had high cholesterol since [I
was] 19 years old,” Martin said. “I am not eating meat at all.
And I feel amazing. No medication anymore. My cholesterol is stable,
my head is clear, I sleep better, my energy is where it needs to be.”
Others featured include Pamela
Anderson, Mayim Bialik, Joan Jett, Sarah Silverman, Bob Barker, Paul
McCartney, Russell Simmons, Edie Falco, Casey Affleck, Belinda
Carlisle, John Salley, Joaquin Phoenix, Viviene Westwood, Marco
Antonio Regil, Sam Simon and Stella McCartney.
