Cabler OWN's upcoming Houston Beauty reality show features transgender teen Mia.

The show, which premieres Saturday, takes a look at the students working for a cosmetology license at Franklin Beauty School in Houston, Texas. The Jemison Family has owned and operated the school for 98 years, making it one of the oldest beauty schools in the country.

Mrs. J., known as “Mama J.,” helps put the students on a path for success.

“For many of their students, the stakes are high as they have major barriers to overcome in their lives,” the show's description reads. “A cosmetology license would mean a whole new life for them – but only if they can overcome their personal struggles along the way.”

According to her bio, Mia left home at the age of 13 to escape her family's lack of support and eventually turned to escorting to support herself.

In a clip from the show, Mia is seen attempting to juggle school and escorting work. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
