Singer-songwriter Steve Grand performed a reinterpreted version of
his hit single All-American Boy during this weekend's
Northalsted Market Days in his hometown of Chicago.
The gay-themed All-American Boy became an instant YouTube
hit when it was released on July 2, topping out at 1 million views
just 8 days after being released, turning Grand into a YouTube
celebrity.
The single tells a well-worn story of unrequited love, except the
pairing in this video are two men. Grand's character falls hard for
another young man. Despite sharing a kiss in a lake, the other man
says he's just looking for friendship. (Watch
the video in our video library.)
Grand performed at Market Days, which takes place in Chicago's gay
neighborhood of Boystown, alongside such performers as Wilson
Phillips and 10,000 Maniacs. (A video of Grand performing
All-American Boy is embedded on this page. Visit
