Jesse Tyler Ferguson's guest appearance on Project Runway inspires one of the contestants to propose marriage to his partner.

In the episode to be broadcast Thursday, contestants are challenged to incorporate bow ties from Ferguson's Tie the Knot – which raises awareness and funds for marriage equality – into their unique fashion designs.

“They design and sell these stunning ties and the proceeds are donated to support marriage equality,” judge Tim Gunn tells the contestants.

“It's obviously a very important cause and it's very resonant with me right now because Justin [Mikita] and I are actually planning our wedding now,” Ferguson says. (Ferguson and Mikita married in New York last month.)

One contestant, Bradon, is so inspired by Ferguson and the challenge that he proposes marriage to his partner of 18 years.

“Josh, will you marry me,” Bradon says as he looks directly into the camera. “I can't wait for the U.S. government to do it.”

“Josh, say yes,” judge Heidi Klum implores, then later adds, “I could be a bridesmaid.” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
