Teenage transgender couple Arin Andrews and Katie Hill from
Oklahoma have become something of an Internet sensation.
The pair met and fell in love at a transgender support group.
Their relationship grew as they began the process of transitioning.
Hill underwent gender reassignment last year at the age of 18. She
is now 19. Last month, Andrews, 17, underwent surgery to remove his
breasts.
“I knew that he was going to be okay and I knew that he was
going to be happy,” Hill said in a Barcroft TV video posted Monday
on YouTube. “I didn't feel like he was going to be scared of it.
I felt like he was ready. Just like I was ready for my surgery.”
“When you're transgender, you learn that your outside doesn't
matter. It's what's on the inside,” Andrews said. “When I look
in the mirror now, I just see what I've always seen: It's just a
guy.”
“Being transgender myself, I understand Arin better than anybody
else. And how good he feels, how complete he feels,” Hill added.
“I think that bond that we have is unbreakable.” (The video is
