Meghan McCain, Margaret Hoover and Abby Huntsman are among the Republicans featured in a new video campaign for gay marriage.

According to a press release from the Young Conservatives for the Freedom to Marry, the campaign targets “right-of-center political thought leaders in the Washington, D.C. area.”

“I believe in equal opportunity. I'm a conservative because I believe in individual freedom and I believe that [marriage equality] is totally consistent with being conservative,” Hoover, a political commentator and author, says in one of the 30-second spots.

“I think right now you're seeing so many people, Republicans and Democrats, coming out for marriage equality. And I think just in statistics alone, it's obvious that the tide is turning,” says McCain, daughter of Arizona Senator John McCain. (The video is embedded on this page. “I've been a lifelong Republican because I believe the Republican Party has always stood for equal rights for all Americans,” says Huntsman, daughter of former Utah governor Jon Huntsman. “I think that it's a generational issue. And I think that over time you're going to see more and more Republicans support the freedom to marry. And I'm happy and I'm proud to be part of that movement.”
