Ellen DeGeneres, Neil Patrick Harris,
Suze Orman, Cynthia Nixon, Janet Mock and Wanda Sykes are among those
featured in HBO's upcoming documentary The Out List.
The film, which has been making the
rounds on the LGBT film festival circuit, will premiere on premium
pay network HBO on Thursday, June 27, the 44th anniversary
of the Stonewall riots. The film will have its Miami premiere on
Friday, June 21 at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts.
The documentary is from Timothy
Greenfield-Sanders, portrait photographer and director of About
Face: Supermodels Then and Now, The Black List and The
Latino List, and interviewer Sam McConnell.
Greenfield-Sanders told Vanity
Fair that the film was originally going to be called
Generation 8, a reference to California's gay marriage ban,
Proposition 8.
“We started to interview people and
we felt it would be limiting to be just about marriage equality;
there are so many other issue,” he said.
Also sharing their experiences in the
movie are Dustin Lance Black, Lady Bunny, Clarke Cooper, Wade Davis,
Twiggy Pucci-Garcon, Larry Kramer, Christine Quinn, Jake Shears,
Wanda Sykes, Lupe Valdez and Wazina Zondon.
