Jenna Wolfe and Stephanie Gosk competed to determine who would carry the couple's baby.

Wolfe, the weekend anchor for NBC's Today Show, last week announced she is expecting her first child with her partner Gosk, an NBC News correspondent.

“This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to us,” Wolfe told People.com. “But I don't want to bring my daughter into a world where I'm not comfortable telling everyone who I am and who her mother is.”

The couple is planning to marry but did not reveal any details.

Wolfe told E! News how the women decided who would carry the baby, a girl due in August.

“We rock-paper-scissored it,” Wolfe said. “I won 34-31. So, I'm carrying the baby, bam.”

She added that she came out to set a positive example for her child.

“I think if you're not who you are, you're going to have a hard time explaining to your kids why it's okay to wake up every day and walk out into the world proud of who they are.”

“We have got nothing but positive feedback,” said Wolfe.
