Singer Elton John and David Furnish
have announced the birth of their second son.
“Elton and David are very pleased to
announce the birth of their child Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John
on Friday, January 11,” the dads wrote on John's website.
The couple, together more than 19
years, welcomed their first son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John,
in 2010, on Christmas Day. The men entered a UK civil partnership in
2005.
Elijah weighed in at 8 pounds 4 ounces,
according to Hello!
magazine, and was born in Los Angeles. He shares the same surrogate
as his brother.
“Both of us have longed to have
children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost
unbelievable,” the couple said. “The birth of our second son
completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. It is
difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are
just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement.”
John has previously said he wanted
Zachary to have a sibling.
