Cecil Chao, the billionaire who is
offering $65 million to the man who can sweep his reportedly lesbian
daughter off her feet, has said she should “straighten out.”
The Hong Kong-based real estate mogul
made the offer after reports that his daughter, Gigi Chao, had
entered a domestic partnership with her long-term girlfriend, Sean
Eay, in France. His offer also includes seed capital to his
potential son-in-law to start his own business.
Gigi, 33, said she has been inundated
with offers from prospective male suitors from all over the world.
In an interview with the UK's The Telegraph, she said she was
bisexual and refused to confirm whether she had tied the knot with
her girlfriend, saying only: “I'm very happy when I'm with her.”
“If she is not gay, she should
straighten out,” Cecil Chao told CNN, “not let the people
mislead.”
Mr. Chao also said he was not concerned
that his offer would only attract men interested in the financial
gain, saying Gigi is “old enough to find out herself” whether the
