Eric Stonestreet on Sunday took home
his second Emmy playing gay dad Cameron Tucker on ABC's comedy hit
Modern Family.
In his acceptance speech, Stonestreet,
41, sent a shout out to his TV partner Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who
plays Mitchell Pritchett on the sitcom.
“I wouldn't be standing here without
Jesse Tyler Ferguson,” Stonestreet said. “There is no Cam
without Mitch. We get the awesome opportunity to play these two
characters on TV and show America and the world what a loving couple
we can be, just like everybody else, and it's an honor to do that.”
“I never knew I'd be on TV as a gay
man, but I love the pictures of hairy chests you guys are sending
me,” he added.
Stonestreet won his first Primetime
Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for
his role playing Cameron in 2010.
Ferguson, 36, has earned 3 Emmy
nominations playing Mitchell.
