Rosie O'Donnell has revealed that she
and Michelle Rounds married in June.
Earlier this month O'Donnell wrote that
she and Rounds, a New York City headhunter, had decided to postpone
their wedding after Rounds was diagnosed with Desmoid Tumors.
“[W]e had to postpone our wedding re
schedule for next summer in lieu of gifts – we ask for donations
DTRF Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation,” she wrote.
But in a blog post Monday, the
50-year-old O'Donnell casually mentioned that Rounds is her wife.
“[W]e married in private before her
surgery [on June 24] just the [two] of us,” O'Donnell
wrote.
O'Donnell, who is recovering from a
heart attack she suffered two weeks ago, promised to hold a wedding
celebration some time in the future.
“When we r both well enough will have
the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish. Thankful for
the love and support so many have given us during these trying times
… Including all of u stranger-friends connected thru invisible
strands of wi fi.”
This is the second marriage for
O'Donnell, who came out gay in 2002 and shares 4 children with
ex-wife Kelli Carpenter. The couple split in 2007.
