Ryan Bowers, one of the 25 men who
dated Emily Maynard on season 8 of ABC's The Bachelorette,
tweeted his support last week for Chick-Fil-A's opposition to gay
marriage.
Fox News' Mike Huckabee called on
conservatives to show their support for Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy's
opposition to gay nuptials by dining at the fast-food chain last
week. According to the company, Chick-Fil-A recorded record sales on
the day.
“Everyone is eating at chick fil-a
today to support the Kathy [sic] family and their stand for the
sanctity of marriage!!!” he messaged his Twitter followers on
August 1. “Lv it!”
“I would never [hate],” he replied
to a follower. “I love people. Their sin is no worse than my own.
I'm just willing to recognize mine and work to please my savior :)”
Bowers added that he lost 1,000
followers for “standing up for the same freedom of speech liberal
minded people stand for.”
Bowers, a sports trainer from Georgia,
was eliminated in The Bachelorette's sixth episode.
