Two gay kisses seen in the opening acts
of the 2012 Summer Olympics taking place in London are making
headlines.
A lesbian kiss was included in the
opening ceremony which celebrated British history.
In the Danny Boyle-produced opening a
kiss between the characters played by Anna Friel and Nicola
Stephenson in the British soap opera Brookside was included
along with other famous kisses from such movies as Four Weddings
and a Funeral and Lady and the Tramp. (The video is

And, according to Gay Star News,
Chris Basiurski, a member of the Gay Football Supporters Network
(GFSN), planted a kiss on his boyfriend James before he carried the
Olympic torch through London. He told the crowd that he and James
would marry next year. The outlet reported that the smooch was
greeted with cheers from the crowd.
“I'm honored to have carried the
torch through London and it was amazing to see and hear all the
support from both my family and GFSN members along the route,”
Basiurski
said.
