Chris Colfer, who plays gay student Kurt Hummel on the Fox musical-comedy Glee, has said homophobes need to get a hobby.

Season 3 of Glee ended with Kurt headed to college, leaving behind his boyfriend Blaine Anderson, who is played by Darren Criss. But before leaving, the couple took their budding romance to the next level in the episode titled The First Time.

In an appearance Tuesday on ABC's The View, Colfer, 22, was asked to respond to people who criticized the show for including a sex scene between a gay male couple.

“Well, I don't listen to those people. I mean, I feel like those people should stop writing letters and get a hobby,” he said. “I personally get letters from kids every single day who write to me in secret because they live in environments that don't accept who they are. So, I really could care less what those people say.” (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
