Lou Dobbs and Shepard Smith, two
personalities of conservative news network Fox News, have publicly
endorsed gay marriage.
Both anchors expressed their support
for gay marriage just hours after President Barack Obama told ABC
News' Robin Roberts that he's “evolved” from supporting civil
unions to marriage for gay and lesbian couples.
Smith, the host of Studio B,
endorsed Obama's new position, telling viewers after playing a clip
from the president's announcement, “The President of the United
States, now in the 21st century.”
While hosting a panel discussing the
president's announcement on Fox Business Network, Dobbs said, “I
don't do this a lot. By the way, I support same-sex marriage. That
is not an issue.”
Other Fox News personalities who
support gay marriage include Andrew Napolitano, Greg Gutfeld and John
Stossel.
In fact, Stossel and nationally
syndicated columnist David Harsanyi ganged up on Brian Brown, the
president of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), the
nation's leading opponent of marriage equality, during
an appearance last year on Fox Business Network's Stossel.
